ALEXIS CALLADO ESTEFANÍA

The Union is delighted to welcome Alexis Callado Estefania. During his residency in Oslo (April 2026), Alexis Callado Estefanía will develop Re-writing the Hall, a curatorial research project. He will explore Oslo City Hall as a site of official narratives while engaging with local artists and communities to uncover alternative stories tied to migration, materiality, and memory. The project aims to generate a curatorial framework for future exhibitions, strengthen local networks, and document the process for ongoing research.

ALEXIS CALLADO ESTEFANÍA holds a degree in Art History from the University of Havana. He is actively engaged in fostering exchange between the artistic landscapes of Spain and Latin America. He has collaborated with the Madrid-based company Arte y Naturaleza on several editorial projects focused on graphic work, photography, and sculptural objects.

He has curated, organized, and participated in artistic projects across Sweden, Spain, France, Guatemala, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Cuba, and collaborates with a range of publications, museums, and associations specializing in contemporary art. He is a member of the Transatlantic Network and co-founder of The Curatorial Bureau.

His recent curatorial projects include Santiago Sierra. 2,068 Teeth, The Maelström, Archive and Black Flag, held from May 16 to September 21, 2025 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Helga de Alvear; La vorágine. Santiago Sierra, presented from November 8, 2025 to January 25, 2026 at MAC Parque Forestal, Santiago de Chile; and ES/CENAS, a solo exhibition by Ángel Vergara, curated by Alexis Callado Estefanía and presented by Fundación MARSO in Madrid.
